The Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings paid tribute to long time program volunteer, Wayne Robertson at this past Saturday's game.  A plaque in honour of Wayne's contributions to the program has been placed at the Sportsplex.  The players home jerseys also have Wayne's initials on them for the remainder of the season.

Special thanks to the Robertson family for attending Saturday's game in honour of Wayne.

Bradley Schoonbaert of the Brandon Wheat Kings added five more points to his league-leading total on the weekend and has been selected Chicken Chef Player of the Week. The 17-year-old scored once and added two assists on Saturday in a 7-0 victory over Central Plains Capitals, then scored both goals in Brandon’s 2-0 victory over Parkland Rangers Sunday. Schoonbaert now has 10 goals and 10 assists for a two-point lead over teammate Colton Bates in the league scoring race.
 
 
 
Weekend Results for both Saturday and Sunday games:
 
The Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings won their third straight game with a 2-0 win over the visiting Parkland Rangers today at the Sportsplex. The game was scoreless for the first two period before Bradley Schoonbaert netted his first of the game 6:11 into the third assisted by Jordan McCausland and Mitch Lyall. The Rangers pulled their goalie for the extra attacker to try to get the equalizer but Schoonbaert with his 2nd of the game scored an EN goal to seal the win with only 11 seconds left in the game. Josh Petersen stopped all 21 shots he faced for the shut out. With the win Brandon has a share of 1'st place in the MMHL with the Winnipeg Wild and Eastman Selects. Brandon next action is next weekend as play a pair of home games on Saturday and Sunday
 

 

 
The Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings improved their record to 6 and 3 with a 7-0 victory over the visiting Central Plains Capitals tonight at the Sportsplex. Luke Zacharias got the shut out in net by stopping all of the 19 shots he faced. Captain Coltyn Bates led the way for Brandon with 2g and 2a for a four point night, other point getters were Jordan McCausland with 2g 1a, Bradley Schoonbaert 1g 2a, Connor Gutenberg 1g 1a, Rick Nicholson 2a, Jordan Robertson 1g and Mitch Lyall, Robert Hechler and Sam Huston with 1 a each.
