After a big win on Friday against the Winnipeg Thrashers the Selects backed it up the next night at home against the Central Plains Capitals.  Although the game wasn't as fast or as pretty as the Friday night game, a win is a win. The selects made several defensive zone blunders and they didn't really use their speed to their advantage.   They were able to out score the Capitals 7-5 in a quite sloppy outing, goal scorers for the Selects were Braeden Binda(2), Brad Goethals, Waylon Petkau, Kolten Kanaki(2), and Kayle Tosh!

With the win on Saturday coupled with 2 losses for the Brandon Wheat Kings on the weekend the Selects now stand alone in 2nd place.

The selects will travel to Neepawa and Souris on the weekend and play 2 teams that may be a first round match up come playoff time. The road trip will mark the end of 2014 for the Selects as the league will break for a couple weeks for the Christmas holidays!
